In the spring of 2001, the Lord burdened Pastor John Lutz to plant a church in Lancaster, PA.  Pastor Lutz & seven families began preparations for a new assembly. The key scripture verse became John 4:35 “Lift up your eyes, and look unto the fields; for they are white already to harvest.” The first worship service was October 7, 2001 and then on Sunday, May 12, 2002, Harvest Bible Church held its Charter Day Service with 38 people becoming charter members.

The church met in several different temporary facilities in the early days of ministry. In 2003 God provided a church building for purchase at 160 on School House Road, Lancaster; our first service at that location was in June, 2003.. To accommodate the growth of the congregation, in August of 2014 we moved to our current location of 1460 Eden Road, Lancaster. What a joy to see how God has generously provided for our congregation each step of the way.

In 2005 Jon & Tara Walters joined the ministry, with Jon initially serving as an Assistant Pastor.  In March of 2007, our founding Pastor, John Lutz moved to Texas, and the church voted Jon Walters in as Senior Pastor. Pastor of Member Care, Josh Scherrer, joined the church with his wife Emily in 2017. Pastor of Family Care, Chris Poborsky, joined the church with his wife Rachel in 2022.
